Freedom In Structure

Often times, in the pursuit of freedom the word “structure” becomes almost cringeworthy.  Honestly, who wants to think about implementing more structure when you want to live a more free life.  Remember back in school when you had to write papers?  Sometimes in the haste to get the paper done, we’d just get to writing and then after what felt like hours, we are left staring at 2 paragraphs and writers block.  Now remember when you outline your paper — clarifying your intro, process and conclusion, wasn’t that ultimately so much easier?

We’re not going to try to sell you on the idea that more structure is super exciting, but often times, structure creates the space for you to feel more free.  When you know where you’re going, you brain frees up the space to figure out creative ways of getting there.

So this week, challenge yourself to implement more structure in an effort to ultimately experience more freedom.  You can try waking up earlier, working out consistently, minimizing your time on social media, stop multi-tasking.  Whatever it is, just try it!  You’ll be surprised with how much clearer, creative, and free your day feels.  Remember, the structure doesn't stifle the freedom, it provides more space for it.
